Accessibility Statement
Last updated May 23, 2026
Health-E-Now Inc. is committed to providing virtual healthcare that is accessible to all people, including people with disabilities. This statement describes our conformance target, the steps we take to meet it, and how to tell us when we fall short.
Our commitment
We comply with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005 (AODA) and the Integrated Accessibility Standards Regulation (O. Reg. 191/11). Our public-facing web platform targets conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. Where we are not yet conformant, we will make accommodations on request.
What we do
- Semantic markup across every page — headings, landmarks, lists, and tables are tagged so assistive technology reads them in the right order.
- Keyboard-only navigation through every primary user flow (signup, intake, booking, joining a visit, downloading records).
- Visible focus indicators on all interactive controls.
- Colour contrast meets or exceeds 4.5:1 for text and 3:1 for large text and meaningful icons.
- Text resizing up to 200% without loss of content or function.
- Captioned video — Deepgram live captions during visits (default on; can be toggled in the in-visit controls).
- Alt text on all meaningful images.
- Screen-reader testing on VoiceOver (macOS / iOS) and NVDA (Windows) before every major release.
- Plain-language intake and post-visit summaries (Grade 8 reading level target).
- Multiple ways to reach a person — email, in-app messaging, and (once active) a toll-free line.
Known gaps we are working on
- Some legacy admin screens (clinic and Leader Clinic dashboards) have keyboard-trap edge cases we are fixing in the next sprint.
- Our PDF documents (Rx, requisitions, sick notes) are not yet fully tagged for accessibility. We will provide an accessible alternative format on request — email accessibility@health-e-now.com.
- French-language interface is targeted for late 2026.
